Brian Phillips Murphy is an Associate Professor of History and American Studies at Rutgers University-Newark. His research is about the intersection of business, labor, ecology and politics in early America.

Brian’s current book project, Great Falls: Water and Power in Hamilton’s City of Industry, is about the founding and early history of Paterson, New Jersey.
