During the community dialogue that took place on August 25, 2025 at The Noyes Arts Garage in Atlantic City, NJ, I observed stories from people who migrated from different regions, places like North Jersey, New York, Central America and The West Indies.
They moved to Atlantic City to find work, primarily at the casinos. The beaches and boardwalk were a main attraction for families. I decided to use shoes as a prop to represent people and families who traveled to Atlantic City for work and leisure purposes. Using the backdrop of the Steel Pier by the boardwalk helped frame that narrative.Â
