Listening to testimony from the women who organized to pass the NJ Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights was a powerful affirmation of the incredibly necessary and invisible labor of domestic work, child care, and elder care.
The work that makes all other work possible. This underappreciated labor enables the rest of us to go about our daily lives with peace of mind. It is these individuals who, carrying their tools of heart and hand, keep our lives in balance through their invisible labor enacted with dignity and care.
